Tea for Gout

Recipe 1 – Tea for Gout

Ingredients required: 3-4 teaspoons agrimony leaves,  2-3 tablespoons queen of the meadow root, 2 cups of water

Methodology: The mentioned ingredients are boiled in water and then kept aside to cool for about 30 minutes. Strain carefully before serving lukewarm.

Recommendations and Benefits: One can consume a half cup of tea four times every day. This tea can give you relief from pain of the joints.

Recipe 2 -Tomato Soup Snack for Gout

Ingredients Required: 8-9 fresh tomatoes, 4-5 Cucumbers, ½ Cup Green pepper, 1-2 Onions, Garlic Brown Sugar and Black Salt to taste, Vinegar (If required to preserve)

Ingredients: 2 Medium red apples (diced), 1 large banana (Sliced), 1 cup celery (thinly sliced), brown sugar to taste (Jaggery could be a substitute), 1 tablespoon soya milk, lettuce leaves, mayonnaise

Methodology: Mix the mayonnaise, brown sugar and soya milk until smooth. Mix the apples, banana and celery and add the milk mixture and toss until well coated. Serve on lettuce leaves.

Recipe 6: Icy Mint Fruit Punch

Ingredients: 1 Cup Orange juice, 1Cup Pineapple juice, 1Cup Apple juice, 3-4 tbsp Lemon juice, 1 tbsp Chopped Mint, 10-12 Ice Cubes

Methodology: Blend the Orange juice, Pineapple juice, Apple Juice, Lemon Juice and chopped mint in a blender and then add the crushed ice cubes to the mixture.

Recommendations and Benefits:  Lemon juice is very good in breaking down uric acid. Apple has substance of malic acid which fights fungal infections and relieves painful joints and also dissolves deposits of Uric Acid and helps to flush them out of the body. Recipe 7: Banana Dip

Ingredients: 1 Banana, 1 tsp Sugar (crushed), 1 Cup plain yoghurt, 8-10 Ice cubes

Methodology:  Cut the banana in small pieces and put in blended iced curd and add sugar to it. This is one of the easiest home recipes for Gout management.

Recommendations and Benefits:  Bananas have high potassium content which converts uric acid crystals into liquid form. In liquid form uric acid gets easily removed from the joints and from the body during urination. Bananas also contain Vitamin C which reduces the levels of uric acid. It also repairs connective tissue in your joints damaged by uric acid crystals.

Recipe 8: Oramato

Ingredients: 2 Cup Orange juice, 1 Cup Tomato juice, 1 tbsp Mint – chopped, Salt –to taste, 10-12 Ice cubes

Methodology:  Blend together orange juice, tomato, juice, salt and ice for a few second. Add chopped mint in it.

Recommendations and Benefits: Orange and Tomato have good content of vitamin C which helps in reducing the level of uric acid in the body.
